Silk was actually born Silk was born in Fredericton (New Brunswick), Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter Peter Silk, who is an academic as well as Anna Silk who is an actress, director and producer. She is also a playwright. One of Anna's first memories were playing rehearsals and watching her mother work. Silk made several commercials while she was still a kid. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Arts from St. Thomas University in 1997. The early stage work she did includes at least two productions with Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career after moving to Toronto the Canadian city of Toronto in the month of November 1999. She then moved from Toronto to Los Angeles for the remainder of that decade. Seth Cooperman was her future spouse when she first was introduced to him in an actor's workshop located in Los Angeles. The couple got engaged in 2009 and were married in the civil ceremony on the month of December in that same year. In Fredericton the 10th of April in 2011 following her conversion to Judaism they renewed vows during a Jewish celebration of their wedding.
